Silhouette says goodbye to bass guitar player Gerrit-Jan (GJ) Bloemink.

In good mutual understanding and respect Gerrit-Jan has decided after more than 10 beautiful years with many highlights to quit as bass guitarist in
the Dutch prog band Silhouette. "The combination of work, home and a demanding band like Silhouette were increasingly difficult to combine", according to GJ.

Jurjen Bergsma

GJ has been a member of Silhouette from the very beginning in 2004. He contributed to the albums
A Maze (2006), Moods (2009), and Across the Rubicon (2012). He played along with all live performances of the band.

Gerrit-Jan also yielded a significant contribution to the upcoming new studio album: "Beyond the Seventh Wave," which will be released in November 2014 by Freia
Records.

The band wishes to thank GJ for his work over the past more than 10 years.

...BUT...

GJ will be succeeded by Jurjen Bergsma, a Utrecht bass player with years of experience in various rock bands.

Silhouette will rock on !!

On June 1st, Silhouette announced the upcoming release of their fourth studio album: "Beyond the Seventh Wave". Release is scheduled for November 24th 2014. You can now pre-order this CD!

For more information please visit this special website www.beyondtheseventhwave.com. You can not only order the CD but also view the more than five minute long "teaser" video, including some exciting fragments of a few songs.

Beyond the Seventh Wave is a concept album of more than 60 minutes with as theme the hunger for freedom so common to man kind. It is based and inspired by books and movies of people being innocently convicted such as "Escape from Alcatraz", "Fugitive" and "The Next Three Days".  But most of all, it is inspired by the story of Papillion, a Frenchman convicted for life forced labor for a crime he did not commit. He escaped several times but was destined to live his days on "Devil Island". Would he finally escape?

Silhouette is very excited about the upcoming release. We believe this album is better than anything we have done so far, with long epics ("Web of Lies", "Lost Paradise"), heavy stuff ("Escape"), symphonic expeditions ("Devils Island") and singalong song ("In Solitary" and "Wings to Fly").

We are also proud to announce that we have quite an impressive list of guest musicians playing on the album, including Ton Scherpenzeel (Kayak, Camel), Ruben van Kruistum, Laura ten Voorde (Adeia) and Tamara van Koetsveld (Dutch Royal Airforce Orchestra).
