The UK's Also Eden and Dutch outfit, Silhouette, are pleased to announce that they will be playing a short tour of five gigs together in May, one in The Netherlands and four in the UK, including a first ever visit, for either band, to Scotland.

The two groups most recently played together in 2012 in Zaandam, with Maschine also featuring, and first shared a stage in 2009 at Star Sound in Utrecht, where the first of this year's gigs will also take place, on Friday, May 8th, while Also Eden travel to Heidelberg to play the inaugural Prog The Castle festival the next day.

The following week, Silhouette travel to the UK for four double-headers, beginning on Thursday, May 14th at The Railway in Winchester, then taking in The Railway in Bromley Cross, Bolton, the following night, The Flying Duck in Glasgow  on Saturday 16th, and winding up on Sunday 17th at The Thunderbolt, a short hop from vocalist Rich Harding's former pad in Totterdown, Bristol. With a nod to Also Eden's recently released video demo of Altitude and Silhouette's single,  Wings To Fly, from the highly acclaimed Beyond The Seventh Wave, the run of gigs has been christened the “Wings Unfurled Mini-Tour”.

The wait is over! Beyond the Seventh Wave, the fourth album by Silhouette, has been released!

The album was presented in Cultuurpodium de Boerderij, Zoetermeer, The Netherlands on the 23rd of November 2014. It was a 93 minute show with several guests musicians to showcase the songs as they were recorded on the album. Already, the album has received several positive reviews on various Progressive rock webzines and magazines.

Tom MacLean (Haken, To-Mera, Euphonia UK)

"Listening to 'Beyond the Seventh Wave' takes me back to those classic prog rock albums by bands such as Kansas, Yes, Genesis, Marillion, IQ etc. during their 80s periods.

The production is immaculate and spacious, with one foot in the past (walls of analog synths) and one in the future."

Les Dougan (Aragon)

"Bloody bastards...This is a brilliant album......I'm Jealous"

We hope you will join us all to enjoy the first public performance of the new album "Beyond the Seventh Wave".

Beyond the Seventh Wave is a concept album of more than 60 minutes with as theme the hunger for freedom so common to man kind. It is based and inspired by books and movies of people being innocently convicted such as "Escape from Alcatraz", "Fugitive" and "The Next Three Days".  But most of all, it is inspired by the story of Papillion, a Frenchman convicted for life forced labor for a crime he did not commit. He escaped several times but was destined to live his days on "Devil Island". Would he finally escape?

Silhouette is very excited about the upcoming release. We believe this album is better than anything we have done so far, with long epics ("Web of Lies", "Lost Paradise"), heavy stuff ("Escape"), symphonic expeditions ("Devils Island") and singalong songs that we might even release as singles in autumn 2014 ("In Solitary" and "Wings to Fly")

We are also proud to announce that we have quite an impressive list of guest musicians playing on the album, including Ton Scherpenzeel (Kayak, Camel), Ruben van Kruistum, Laura ten Voorde (Adeia) and Tamara van Koetsveld (Dutch Royal Airforce Orchestra).

Silhouette says goodbye to bass guitar player Gerrit-Jan (GJ) Bloemink.

In good mutual understanding and respect Gerrit-Jan has decided after more than 10 beautiful years with many highlights to quit as bass guitarist in
the Dutch prog band Silhouette. "The combination of work, home and a demanding band like Silhouette were increasingly difficult to combine", according to GJ.

Jurjen Bergsma

GJ has been a member of Silhouette from the very beginning in 2004. He contributed to the albums
A Maze (2006), Moods (2009), and Across the Rubicon (2012). He played along with all live performances of the band.

Gerrit-Jan also yielded a significant contribution to the upcoming new studio album: "Beyond the Seventh Wave," which will be released in November 2014 by Freia

The band wishes to thank GJ for his work over the past more than 10 years.

GJ will be succeeded by Jurjen Bergsma, a Utrecht bass player with years of experience in various rock bands.

Silhouette will rock on !!
